Great Camera - New product issues
Rating: 4
Amazing picture & video quality. The 3D images really pop! It should be noted that in video mode, when the camera moves, so does the viewing area inside the VR headset. Example: Camera is turned the opposite direction while recording, the viewer with headset playing the video will have to physically turn around to stay in view of the video.

Video quality is good. Getting images on the new oculus go took some work, but doable. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Decent. Not half bad. Not half good, either.
Rating: 3
Con: Photos dont have HDR, a feature that all cell phone cameras have had for the last few years. So photos tend to have blown out light areas or extremely dark areas in photos of mixed lighting conditions. Pro: File sizes aren't as gigantic and large as other 180/360 photos/videos from other cameras.Much more manageable. Cons: The wifi is dreadfully slow. It takes a very long time to transfer files. Streaming also seems to be handicapped at a very slow bitrate. Pro: I like the simple aesthetic. I also like NOT having a viewfinder. Just shoot it and forget it. It makes me more carefree to take more pictures and not worry so much about getting perfect framing. If I need framing, I can fire up the app. Con: I hope the 3D 180VR filetype that the Mirage Camera uses becomes more widely supported. Right now only lenovo and google products seem to support it. Other VR headsets are having problems viewing the photos/videos. Pro: The steroscopic effect is excellent. You can really see a little bit of depth. No, you wont feel like you are actually there, but its better than 2D! Con: Microphones could be better. Sound is a little tinny. Pro: Super light and pocketably Con: No case and the lenses can get smudged way too easy. Pro: USB-C ALL THE THINGS! Con: No accessories for sale. No wall charger, No extra batteries, No 180 compatible tripod.

Good image quality, but annoying firmware bugs.
Rating: 2
I bought this camera to capture VR memories of our new baby. The quality of the VR pictures is great and the videos are pretty good (using the 4k setting) given the price of the camera. Unfortunately, this product suffers from some annoying bugs and I honestly don't understand how it got released in this state. Let me list them: - in VR videos, audio and video track are desynchronized by up to 0.6s. This is very noticeable! The offset is random and varies from video to video, so you cannot easily fix them in a batch but have to do it one by one (using ffmpeg, for instance) - downloading videos to my Android phone (Pixel 2 XL) is very instable. It looks like the camera goes to sleep after 3 minutes, but the download of a camera full of video (8GB) takes more than half an hour. I was not able to transfer more than a couple of pictures wirelessly but had to use a cable or remove the sd card. - the VR postprocessing tool (Google VR180 Creator) is not available for Windows (yet?) - only for Mac and Linux - the camera is slow. Start up time is about 30 seconds and immediately after the shutter does not work for another 10 seconds or so. Shutter lag for taking pictures is more than 1s. - the Android VR180 companion app (which is required to use the Mirage Camera properly as it doesn't have a display to switch settings, for instance) is instable, slow, and has only the bare minimum set of features: There are almost no settings and the video and image playback is very minimalistic as well. There's not even an option to view content in Google photos (which has a much better interface) I hope Lenovo will address these issues in an update soon. Lenovo, if you fix only one thing, please fix the audio/video synchronization problem. But if you want to have customers returning to your brand I suggest you fix all of these issues.

Great Quality for price

I upgraded my S6 with Gear VR to the new S8+ with new VR. I didn't think that the difference would be noticeable but boy was I wrong! I LOVE IT. The Bluetooth controller is a nice touch and makes navigating around the menu SO much easier! The fact that Samsung even thought to put a USB adapter for both regular and USB-C was a nice touch. Now my wife will also be able to use her Note 5 with the new Gear VR . Love the attention to detail on this product as well as on all Samsung products, which my makes me a die hard Samsung Product junkie! Thank you!

Unexpected experience
Rating: 5
I must accept I am not a gaming kind of girl. So, I wasn't expecting much about the GEAR. I thought it was cool to have it, but didn't really see where I could fit this gadget in my life. I got my GEAR on my NYC trip and used it as an entertainment tool, learned about games and how to play it. It was actually fun and I ended up with something fun and different to do while waiting around in the airports. Then, I got back to Colombia and found out I could actually show my parents all the amazing pictures and videos I had taken with my GEAR. I was amazed to be able to take them throughout my whole NYC experience from the comnfort of our house in Colombia. They were shocked to feel like they were there, in that video, with me. It was after this happened that I actually realized the GEAR is not just made for gamers. It is a versatile tool capable of adapting to whichever entertaining tastes you might have. Thus, the GEAR is just an amazing bridge of technological reality, what you do with it, mostly depends on your imagination. To me, the gear enables me to share my experiences and memories with the ones I love… As I said before, I am not a gamer, I am more of an open space- sharing experiences kind of person. So, I found a use for my GEAR that could connect me to people. I have been taking my GEAR to friend and family parties. I have been making out of the GEAR a “group experience”, it has been amazing to share this technology with friends, family and the ones I love, and I must say, it has been the main attraction of the parties I go to. I have loved my GEAR and I loved that it fits my lifestyle, you don't have to be a gamer to enjoy these gadgets. GEAR technology has enabled me to connect and share my experiences and moments with family and friends. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I tried the Virtual Reality headgear, it was awesome. You feel like you are in another world. It is a strange feeling to be sitting in the middle of a bunch of people and yet you are in another world all together. It is like you are really there in this alternate world on your eyes. The strangest thing is that you can turn around and see behind you, above you and to each side, just like if you were really there. Things come at you and you will duck as if they are really there in the room with you. A great experience. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Fantastic
Rating: 5
Loved it As a caveat, I'm sensitive to motion sickness so there definitely was a little of this to hurdle through. However, once that got settled, I really started to enjoy the device. I enjoyed the novelty of trying out different apps and games. In particular, it was awesome to try out the 360-degree cameras to be inside the Egyptian tombs, or other travel destinations. I was in control of what to look at and it felt like you were right there which was absolutely amazing. As a sports fan, I tried out the VR experience to watch an NBA game which was a cool experience. It feels as though you're sitting right at courtside, and the ability to look left and right to focus on different things really adds to the virtual experience. The views switch seamlessly from courtside to the camera mounted behind the backboard which gives you a view better than any seat you would pay for in real life! The hardware itself is comfortable. It fits well on my head, doesn't feel front-heavy, and I didn't have any trouble with sweating that I noticed from other comments. Set-up was easy and the software easy to navigate. As it's powered by Oculus, you do have to download the oculus app and every additional feature you want to explore does require separate downloads, but these were snappy and glitch-free. I had a lot of fun with the device, and I was able to share this with my friends and spouse who all loved it as well. For the price, can't beat this VR experience. As VR support and apps expand it's only going to continue to get better! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Gear VR
Rating: 5
Amazing product. I had never tried a VR headset before and I was so surprised when I tried the Samsung Gear VR. My idea of VR has changed completely as a result of the Gear VR. I do wish there were more good free apps available, but from the ones that I download and played with, I was blown away. It is amazing how far technology has come, and the Gear VR is one great example of such advancement. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

The Newest MUST HAVE
Rating: 5
I received my Gear VR at the same time as my new S8+ phone and I am just blown away by the combination. It's easy to use, very intuitive and I've had fun not only playing games, but watching concerts and visiting places around the world in stunning 360 degree views. Never having been one for gaming in the past, this has opened up a whole new world to me. Some of the most fun are the storytime games where you basically get to do a "choose your own adventure" game/storyline. They are so much fun!!! It seems pretty durable and with the straps installed both around the head and over the top, the thing doesn't move at all while you are wearing it. The only thing I do recommend is that you make sure that you clean all the dust off of the inner and outer lenses, as well as your phone screen, before hooking it up. Small specs tend to look HUGE and are very distracting. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

The Gear VR is awesome. It's great for games (shooters are best), I have also watched some trailers from youtube and it feels like i'm at the cinema. I have also watched some of the videos I captured with the Gear 360 and it looks and feels like I am at the place I filmed. I can't wait for more content. This thing is awesome, I had no idea whatsoever on what this was for. I saw reviews on it on youtube and saw that it was actually included with the phone I had just bought. It was simple to put it all together, all you have to do is install an app on your phone, connect the phone to the remote and its ready to use. Its so cool, actually does look real, most of the apps and games are really cool.

Cannot Connect to Because of "Invalid Request" Error
Rating: 1
Everything was going great until I plugged my brand new Galaxy S8 into the Samsung Gear VR headset. It required me to login through my Facebook account, which I tried to do multiple times. Each time I got an error message "Invalid Request". I confirmed my Facebook login and password, even changed my password and tried to login again, but still got the same message. I love my Galaxy S8, but am ready to send the "free" Gear VR back to its manufacturer after I pound it into little pieces in frustration. I'd be happy to change my rating if someone could tell how to get around the "Invalid Request" problem.
