Great Camera - New product issues
Rating: 4
Amazing picture & video quality. The 3D images really pop! It should be noted that in video mode, when the camera moves, so does the viewing area inside the VR headset. Example: Camera is turned the opposite direction while recording, the viewer with headset playing the video will have to physically turn around to stay in view of the video.

Interesting idea

Video quality is good. Getting images on the new oculus go took some work, but doable. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Decent. Not half bad. Not half good, either.
Rating: 3
Con: Photos dont have HDR, a feature that all cell phone cameras have had for the last few years. So photos tend to have blown out light areas or extremely dark areas in photos of mixed lighting conditions. Pro: File sizes aren't as gigantic and large as other 180/360 photos/videos from other cameras.Much more manageable. Cons: The wifi is dreadfully slow. It takes a very long time to transfer files. Streaming also seems to be handicapped at a very slow bitrate. Pro: I like the simple aesthetic. I also like NOT having a viewfinder. Just shoot it and forget it. It makes me more carefree to take more pictures and not worry so much about getting perfect framing. If I need framing, I can fire up the app. Con: I hope the 3D 180VR filetype that the Mirage Camera uses becomes more widely supported. Right now only lenovo and google products seem to support it. Other VR headsets are having problems viewing the photos/videos. Pro: The steroscopic effect is excellent. You can really see a little bit of depth. No, you wont feel like you are actually there, but its better than 2D! Con: Microphones could be better. Sound is a little tinny. Pro: Super light and pocketably Con: No case and the lenses can get smudged way too easy. Pro: USB-C ALL THE THINGS! Con: No accessories for sale. No wall charger, No extra batteries, No 180 compatible tripod.

Good image quality, but annoying firmware bugs.
Rating: 2
I bought this camera to capture VR memories of our new baby. The quality of the VR pictures is great and the videos are pretty good (using the 4k setting) given the price of the camera. Unfortunately, this product suffers from some annoying bugs and I honestly don't understand how it got released in this state. Let me list them: - in VR videos, audio and video track are desynchronized by up to 0.6s. This is very noticeable! The offset is random and varies from video to video, so you cannot easily fix them in a batch but have to do it one by one (using ffmpeg, for instance) - downloading videos to my Android phone (Pixel 2 XL) is very instable. It looks like the camera goes to sleep after 3 minutes, but the download of a camera full of video (8GB) takes more than half an hour. I was not able to transfer more than a couple of pictures wirelessly but had to use a cable or remove the sd card. - the VR postprocessing tool (Google VR180 Creator) is not available for Windows (yet?) - only for Mac and Linux - the camera is slow. Start up time is about 30 seconds and immediately after the shutter does not work for another 10 seconds or so. Shutter lag for taking pictures is more than 1s. - the Android VR180 companion app (which is required to use the Mirage Camera properly as it doesn't have a display to switch settings, for instance) is instable, slow, and has only the bare minimum set of features: There are almost no settings and the video and image playback is very minimalistic as well. There's not even an option to view content in Google photos (which has a much better interface) I hope Lenovo will address these issues in an update soon. Lenovo, if you fix only one thing, please fix the audio/video synchronization problem. But if you want to have customers returning to your brand I suggest you fix all of these issues.

Great fun for almost any age. It is a bit hard for the very young who cant read yet, but other than a simple help here and there its great fun for the price. Much cheaper then the high end models and yet still very capable

Glad I bought mine!

I bought the Oculus Go because I couldn't afford the Quest or Rift, and I haven't been disappointed. After trying mine some of my grandkids also bought their own. Thanks to the "sharing" we can join up on them and play some of the games together and visit certain apps together. One we particularly enjoy together is Wander, and we travel the globe together. I particularly love Angel Falls, Mount Rushmore and Machu Picchu in 3-D/360. Youtube also has some awesome 3-D/360 experiences. The headset does tend to heat up and there is a warning that pops up if it does. To avoid over heating I bought the neck fans (around $20) and the Oculus stays cool during the full battery life, which is about 2 hours of constant use. I realize the VR experience is going to be better yet with the Rift or Quest so I will definitely upgrade as I can afford it, and that's because I'm enjoying the experience so much. Even though it's a bit inferior to the other two I wouldn't hesitate to spend the money on it. However, be sure to get 64 GB rather than 32 GB, you'll need it because you'll just want more, more, more. While you're waiting for yours to arrive be sure to search some reviews and tips which will be so helpful to know ahead of time.

Ton of fun, but I should of got a Quest.
Rating: 3
Love the technology, but it gets to hot after 2 hours of playtime and asks to turn off to cool down. Apparently, this has been fixed in the Quest. Save up the extra money and get a Quest. The Go is going to be retired soon and the quest is an all-around better device and still a great value at $400 for the 64GB.

Good product, Bad service.

I went in to the store with my grandparents around Christmas time to buy one of these and we were led on to believe that this was the Oculus Quest ( I didn't know what it was called at the time we were in the store so as they described it I believed that this was the system I needed) . I asked the Employee (don't know the name of them) If it could play VR Chat and they told me that yes indeed it could and that it was Brand new! Welp both of those statements where a lie, Though we paid full price for a new one, when I got home to play it (it was an early present) I saw that not only was this an old us military's Oculus but also that I couldn't download VR chat. I thought maybe it was a mistake on my end and that maybe I messed up some how so I spent the next 3 days figuring out how to reset it and I even contacted Oculus support to see if I could Play VR chat, maybe I overlooked something in the settings or needed to buy a pass? NOPE, They told me I had bought the Oculus Go and it does nothing basically compared to the Quest. I am still mad that I my grandparents had to pay full price for a used gaming system that didn't even do what we wanted it to do. After we had contacted them we figured it was too late for a refund as we had thrown our receipt away (Because we thought it would be NEW and could trust WALMART of all places!)
